Household Garbage Collection
The Municipality of Bayham is responsible through a contract with Norfolk Disposal for curbside garbage collection. Regular Collection days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, depending upon the area in which you reside (subject to change due to certain statutory holidays).  All waste is required to be set out to the curb by 7:00 am on the morning of collection day.
• Garbage includes: all kitchen and table waste, of animal or vegetable origin, resulting from the preparation or consumption of food
• Any garbage as a result of day-to-day living, excluding recyclables and hazardous wastes

Recycling Blue Box Collection
Circular Materials Ontario is responsible through a contract with Norfolk Disposal for residential curbside recycling collection. For any recycling service inquiries please contact Norfolk Disposal directly at 1-800-616-0347
• All recyclables should be set out to the curb by no later than 7:00 am the morning of your collection day.
• Recyclables will be collected the same day as household garbage, as per the schedule on the front of this flyer.
• Recyclables must be separated into “2 streams”- glass/plastics separated from paper/cardboard.

Electronics Recycling

The Port Burwell Fire Fighters Association are collecting used electronic items at the Port Burwell Fire Hall, 55451 Nova Scotia Line - bin located behind the hall. The Fire Fighters are using this as an opportunity to raise funds for fire equipment.  ONLY electronic items can be accepted.

The 2025 Bag Tag Kits are available for pick up at the Municipal Office. The 2025 bag tag allotment remains unchanged from 2024. Kits contain 52 tags (Residential) and 86 tags (Commercial) along with the 2025 Waste Management Schedule. Agricultural property owners may obtain 16 additional tags for 2025 upon verification of the farm tax class at the Municipal Office.

Please Note: Property Owners only are permitted to pick up the 2025 Bag Tag Kits. If an owner is not able to attend, a representative may pick up the materials on their behalf. Owners will be responsible to distribute tags to their tenants. Tenants should contact the property owner(s) to obtain any tags. All bags must be tagged with current year tags or they will not be collected.

If you sell your property, the bag tags and the blue boxes belong to the property...please leave them for the future owner.

The Municipality of Bayham offers a curbside bulk garbage pick-up program once a month during the months of April, May, July, September and October to residences that receive regular garbage pick up services. Registration through the online form and providing the fee prior to the noted deadline are required. 

The cost is $25 per pick up (for 2 cubic meters). Multiple pick ups from the same address and for the same date can be scheduled under one booking.

We accept e-transfers! Send your registration fee to payments@bayham.on.ca  Be sure to include your address in the notes section for us to match up your payment to your registration.

REDUCE - REUSE - RECYCLE

Blue boxes are available for purchase at the municipal office.

Leaf and yard waste is collected curbside in the urban areas only. Leaf and yard waste collection is carried out over a four (4) week period in both the spring and fall on Mondays unless otherwise noted*.

2024 Spring Dates: Mondays April 29, May 6, 13 and *Tuesday May 21, 2024 (no pickup Monday, May 20)

2024 Fall Dates: Mondays October 21, 28 and November 4, 11, 2024

Please ensure leaf and yard waste is placed at the curbside by 7:00 am.

Each urban area will receive a minimum of one pickup each week. This pickup may not occur on your regular waste collection day. All leaf and yard waste must be placed in paper bags, open reusable containers, or bundled in lengths not exceeding four (4) feet. Leaf and yard waste items do not require a bag tag. All individual containers must weigh less than 22 kilograms (48 pounds).
