The Municipality of Bayham is a lower-tier municipality in the most easterly part of Elgin County. The former Township of Bayham was originally located in Straffordville and was incorporated in 1850. The Municipality of Bayham was then established on January 1, 1998 through amalgamation of the former Township of Bayham and the Villages of Port Burwell and Vienna and other close surrounding communities, including Calton, Corinth, Richmond, Eden and North Hall.
